Up on the mountain

Mt. Lemmon and Summerhaven, Arizona. The stove is a remnant from the fire of 2003 that swept through and destroyed many cabins. The drive up Mt. Lemmon is spectacular, and we like to go part or all of the way up the mountain at least a couple times a month. Two days ago there was snow up at the top, in the shade.

Our Tucson Neighborhood

We have rented an old adobe house, 4 square rooms, in the historic Armory Park neighborhood here in Tucson. So now we are living on the opposite side of town from where we were before. We are just southeast of downtown, about 6 blocks south of Hotel Congress. We live near the University of Arizona and the happening 4th Ave. scene. Yay! So anyway, the following are pictures from right around our neighborhood taken while out on a stroll. The first few are of our house/yard/garden.

Finally, posting again.

Hey there. We have had nearly a month of either no internet or a broken computer, so no posting has been happening for quite some time. But we have been busy with visitors and trips. Below you will see pictures of Mt. Rainier, the Olympic National forest area/coast, and Bryan's special nurse log cake. I'll post some more pictures very soon.

This is the Hoh River, which is in the back part of the llama ranch that we stayed at.
Beautiful land.
Ruby beach on a rainy afternoon. (It rains an average of 140 inches a year on the Western side of the Olympic mountain range.)

Seastacks in the distance on the Pacific coast

Align Center

A cave on Second Beach.

Bryan exploring the cave.

The Edmonds Ferry, which we took to get to the Olympic Penninsula, and also where we explored tide pools with Tim and Cindy when they were visiting.
Bryan's confectionary rendition of a nurse log. Love it.

Liz on a huge driftwood log by the ocean. See the cave back there?

Another picture of Ruby Beach where the river runs into the ocean, not sure which river.

The working Llama ranch/B&B where we stayed for two nights, a one-of-a-kind experience.

A footbridge over a glacial river at the foot of Mount Rainier.
Mt. Rainier's glacier covered peak, through the mist.

A real life gigantic nurse log.

A Mountain Lake near Mt. Rainier.

This is what sea anemones look like when the tide goes out. Yuck and cool.

Liz and Angie on the Duck (sea and land) tour of Seattle. Yes, those are kazoos, and yes, we were obnoxious.

Bryan, Scott, and Liz by and in a fallen tree in the forests of Mount Rainier.

The Kromenacker boys, all so very handsome.

Shiny Happy Naked People - (you were warned)

Don't scroll down the page if you aren't down with seeing the human form in all it's glory. Today Matt and I (Liz) went to the Fremont Solstice Parade, in a northern neighborhood of Seattle. It was a blast! First there were painted nude cyclists en mass, and then there were floats and groups of dancers and musicians. No matter their shape or size, these people were letting it all hang out, smiling and having fun, wishing all bystanders "happy solstice"! It was a big deal too, lots and lots of people came out to view this annual celebration/spectacle, and their were lots of kids too, even participating. People around these parts get very excited about the arrival of summer. Afterword, there was food and beer at Gasworks Park by Lake Union, everyone hanging out together, good vibes all around. I love this place.

First Days

Got into town, the weather was very chilly, and today (Saturday) it got nice and sunny in the afternoon, but let's not kid ourselves, it's freakin' cold for June! Anyway, I am posting some pictures that I took from our rooftop deck in the evening, which is very nice to have, and from which there are great views. Can you see Mount Rainier above the clouds in the one? Also there is a picture of the half pound of coffee for which I paid 7.50 (hey, it's a local roaster in downtown Seattle, give me a break), and lastly, a lovely pic-tyuh of Bryan and Scott outside of the yummy pizza place that Kevin and Scott work at. (That one is for you, Tim). Ok, that's all for now, folks. See you back real soon!
